Privacy Policy

SchedU ("SchedU," "we," "us") helps students plan their semester. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using SchedU you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email, name, username, and (optionally) your university and major.
• Academic information you add — syllabi you upload, courses, grade categories, assignments, grades, transcripts, schedules, focus sessions, and notes.
• Connected services (optional) — when you connect Canvas (via a personal access token, our browser extension, or a calendar feed) or Google Calendar, we access the course, assignment, grade, and calendar data needed to sync your account. Canvas access tokens are stored encrypted and are never exposed to your browser.
• Payment information — subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details; we keep only a Stripe customer/subscription identifier and your plan status.
• Usage data — basic technical and usage information (e.g., feature usage counts) needed to operate the service.

How we use your information

• To provide and maintain SchedU — building your gradebook, planner, and schedule.
• To process AI features you trigger (syllabus parsing, the Grade Coach, quizzes).
• To sync grades and assignments from services you connect.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To communicate with you about your account and the service.
• To secure, debug, and improve the product.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that operate the product on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Anthropic — to power AI features. Content you submit for AI processing (e.g., syllabus text, coach questions) is sent to Anthropic to generate a response.
• Stripe — to process payments.
• Vercel — application hosting.

Anything you choose to post to the community library (e.g., a shared course template) is visible to other users; do not include private grades or personal information there. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Your grades are private by default

Your grades, GPA, and academic data are visible only to you. We provide a privacy toggle to hide your GPA on shared screens. Sharing to the community is always opt-in and does not include your grades.

Data retention

We retain your information while your account is active. You can delete your courses and data at any time, and you may request deletion of your account by contacting us. Some records may be retained as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and storing sensitive credentials server-side only. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Students & eligibility

SchedU is intended for college and university students and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices & rights

• Access, correct, or delete your data from within the app or by contacting us.
• Disconnect Canvas or Google Calendar at any time in Settings.
• Cancel your subscription at any time; downgrades take effect per your billing terms.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate we will notify you.
